Adela Katsura Jones
Yesterday we left the house a family of three. Today we've come home with a new bundle to make our family a perfect square. I am delighted to introduce the newest member of our gang, Addie.

She was born yesterday, October 2nd, at 6:31 pm weighing 8 lbs 2 oz. Addie is just a wonderful little girl and we love her to pieces already.
A few more pictures of our newest star:

This introduction would not be complete if I did not acknowledge and thank my beautiful wife for supporting this bundle of joy for nine long, hard months. Lucy is absolutely amazing. She gave birth to Addie naturally and without painkillers of any kind. I am still left breathless at all she has accomplished as a woman and a mother. Lucy, thank you and I love you.

Almost time
Well, we are within a day or two of when Sam would have been born were this 21 months ago. But instead, we are now eagerly awaiting Baby Girl Jones. As you can see, Lucy continues to look great while carrying a watermelon under her shirt.

Sam is excited too. He can't wait to meet his baby sister. Here he displays his affection with a gentle smooch to Mom's belly.

And then he shares a hug with Mom. We are counting the days and hours. Before you know it, this will no longer be Sam's blog, but instead Sam & _____'s blog. Almost let the secret slip. ;)

Welcome, Brynn Arhnolt
We are so excited to welcome Brynn Emaline Arnholt, born early this morning to our good friends Devon and Ryan. Sam and Baby Girl Jones (and parents) can't wait to meet her!

Grandpa Jerry and the Model Train Museum
This post is long overdue, but here it is anyway. Grandpa Jerry paid a visit in late July. It was wonderful to see him and Sam really enjoyed getting to know him. The highlight of the trip was a visit to a model train museum. A few pictures can be found below.

Hawaii
Our trip to Hawaii was absolutely wonderful in every aspect. We had so much fun and Sam just had a really special time with his cousins in a beautiful new place. He grew so much in those two weeks, it was really incredible to see. He loved the airplane rides, enjoyed the beach, warmed up to swimming in the pool, and interacted with just about everybody (even learning nearly everyone's names). Lucy and I had a blast too. Below are some of my favorite pictures, but more can be found here.

All caught up
Well, its been a while since I've updated this site. Since the last post (in March?!?!) spring has arrived, and Sam couldn't be happier. He loves going outside; going on walks, playing in the yard, exploring the park and climbing at the playground. He now plays in the front porch all the time because it is all windows and Sam can look out the front door at all the people, dogs, cars and trucks (called "guks").
I know what you are thinking, and yes, "guks" can also mean bikes and sometime cars too, but hey, the kid is only 17 months! You also might be thinking, how many words does this kid know now? The answer - lots. Sam is a babbling machine. On May 6th, Lucy counted all his words and they topped 50. From "Elmo" to "out", Sam can clearly express his thoughts and wants. He is also learning to be polite by saying thank you ("Dankee") after being given a treat.
Sam learns new skills all the time. Just this week he started eating with a fork and spoon, and sometime he gets the food in his mouth. His favorite toys are his cars and stuffed animals. He likes diapering his panda bear with Mom. He enjoys drawing and playing some peek-a-boo. Climbing has also become a favorite activity, especially up and down the latter of his red slide.
Basically, he is a typically wonderful boy and we are having so much fun together (SO much fun that I never have time to post). Hopefully in the pics and slideshows posted below, you'll get a sense of his world over the last two months. Enjoy.

Fun on a slide
Special note: Red slide was built by Grandma Pat when Lucy was a little girl.
